The Love Guru combines ingredients of hockey, love, and spirituality in abundance. Romany Malco plays Darren Roanoke, the star player of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He is under tremendous stress from marital problems with his wife, Prudence Roanoke played by Meagan Good. She’s left her husband for Jacques Grande, played by Justin Timberlake. Darren finds that his hand shakes due to this stress which affects his hockey performance.
Jane Bullard, played by Jessica Alba, enlists the support of Guru Maurice Pitka, played by Mike Myers, who comes to help Roanoke break the Maple Leafs losing streak and cope with his stress . Pitka demands a lot of money for this job and expects an invitation to the Oprah Winfrey Show, and aspires to be the number one guru. There is a certain vow to Guru Tugginmypudha that binds Pitka and the story is propelled forward. In the process of helping Roanoke, will the Love Guru find his own love, and is being Number One that important?
