Watch Easy Virtue Full Video – Easy Virtue will be in limited theatrical release in the US on May 22, 2009. Easy Virtue is based on Noel Coward’s play and the silent movie produced by Alfred Hitchcock in 1928 and is now directed by Stephan Elliott and co-written by Elliot and Sheridan Jobbins and stars Jessica Biel, Colin Firth, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Ben Barnes.
Easy Virtue is a social comedy set in the Roaring 1920s England. John Whittaker (Ben Barnes) meets and, after a whirlwind romance, marries Larita (Jessica Biel), a glamorous American. Larita has no idea what she’s gotten herself into when John takes to England to meet his family. John’s mother, Mrs. Whittaker (Kristin Scott Thomas) takes an instant and powerful, almost allergic, dislike to Larita and does everything in her power to come between the young couple. Larita realizes what she’s doing and counters every move Mrs. Whittaker makes, but it takes a toll on her relationship with John. When Larita’s secrets are revealed, she makes a break for freedom, but not before changing the atmosphere in the Whittaker home forever.
