The story of this movie revolves around the lives of two sisters named Anna and Kate Fitzgerald. Kate has been suffering from leukemia for a long time. She needs frequent transplantation and so the doctors create a genetic match for Kate. That genetic match is actually Anna, who has been brought in this world through in-vitro fertilization. Anna and Kate have a donor-recipient relationship, rather than a normal sister-sister relationship. Whenever Kate needed Anna, she had to be by her side and this was eating into her private life too. Soon, Kate undergoes renal failure and Anna is asked to donate one of her kidneys. But Anna refuses and files a case of medical emancipation against her parents.
