This Lifetime drama series follows a pretty 20-something actress who dies and reincarnates as an older, frumpy attorney. In the next episode, Jane’s next case that is coming up for trial again ends landing her in jail. Kim and Grayson try to get money for a husband who had multiple personalities, and doesn’t have the correct personality.
As Deb Dobson’s (played by Brooke D’Orsay in the pilot and in flashbacks), soul enters the gates of Heaven, she finds herself declared a self-centered “zero” by the gatekeeper Fred. She begs and bgs for a chance to return to Earth, and finally gets her wish, only to be brought back to life in the body of a recently deceased, intelligent, overweight lawyer named Jane Bingum. Initially, Deb – in her new human form – is horrified and ends up learning the meaning of inner beauty as she finds the ability to juggle legal cases, aided by her assistant Terri, while attempting to reconnect incognito with her still-grieving boyfriend, Grayson Kent. At the same time, Deb begins to rediscover her past while learning more about her inherited body’s current life and how Jane was treated when she was alive. Besides the former gatekeeper, Fred, Deb’s longtime mortal friend Stacy is the only one who knows Jane’s true identity.
