Nurse Jackie is as strong-willed New York nurse who has her own share of challenges and problems. She has a “weakness” for Vicodin and Adderall to get her through the meat-grinder of dealing with the urban hospital setting. Her weakness has led her to have an affair with the hospital pharmacist, Eddie, in order to feed the habit. Her best friend is a British doctor, and her foil is a first year, perky, rookie nurse. Though Jackie has her flaws and violates the Nursing Code of Ethics, she’s still competent and genuinely cares about her patients. She does make attempts to do the right thing.
