Capitalism: A Love Story is a documentary film that has been directed by Michael Moore and the script has also been written by him. The film carries on from where Michael had left his last film, titled “Roger & Me”, which was released exactly 20 years ago. In this new film, Michael tries to go deep into the cause and effect relation of capitalism and recession. He tries to figure out why the world has gone into a recession phase. In this film, Michael not only blames big corporations like General Motors for this financial catastrophe. He also blames the people sitting in Manhattan and Washington, who make the policies of the corporations and the governments. He makes us believe that these are the people who have brought the country to this stage and the world too.
In this movie, Michael shows sympathy with the people who have lost their jobs or had to face salary cuts due to recession. He believes that due to the mistakes done by others, the innocent people had to pay the prices with job cuts and salary cuts. He describes the whole situation as a love affair gone terribly wrong. This film raises many more questions than providing answers.
