The Invention of Lying is a new film which has been directed by Ricky Gervais and Matthew Robinson. The film belongs to the category of comedy and the screenplay has been written by Gervais and Robinson too. The film carries a tagline which says “In a world where everyone can only tell the truth….this guy can lie”. In this movie we get to see a world where every single person tells the truth. They are used to the system of telling truth and so there is no tension or no quarrels between each other.
In that world, there is no major problem too. But there is a man named Mark Bellison, who is an actor in the film industry. He learns the art of telling a lie and he begins to use this for his own benefit. Soon he becomes one of the most successful performers in that world. But the problem is how long will he be able top continue telling lies, without people getting to know that those are lies.
In this movie, the director Ricky Gervais plays the lead role of Mark Bellison. The other main actors taking part in the movie are Martin Starr, Jimmi Simpson, Nathan Corddry, Donna Sorbello, etc.
