Michael and Peter Spierig have written and directed the new sci-fi thriller Daybreakers which is due for nationwide release on Friday, January 8, 2010. It is 2019 and a plague has transformed almost every human being into a vampire. How did this happen? A mysterious plague swept over the earth. Now humans have become an endangered, second-class species. To make matters worse the blood supply is dwindling so the leftover humans must plot their survival. The endangered species are hunted and farmed for vampire consumption.

Edward Dalton is a vampire researcher that will NOT feed on human blood. He works to perfect a blood substitute which could sustain the vampires and save the few humans who remain. Unfortunately his time is running short, and Ed will have to face challenges of his own as he goes up against his own kind. Daybreakers stars Ethan Hawke, Isabel Lucas, Willem Dafoe, Claudia Karan & Sam Neill.
