On September 20th 2010, after lots of mystery and scrutiny as to what exactly this “Event” was that was coming….it came. NBC’s new Sci-Fi Action Mystery starring Blair Underwood hit the screens and kept viewers partly confused but intrigued at the same time. Each Monday we come back for more as the mystery of “The Event” unfolds. Underwood plays the Cuban-American President of the United States and is nearly killed in the first episode! He is prepared to release a group of detainees who have been held in U.S. custody since WWII, but on that same day conspirators force a pilot to hijack a plane and crash it into his compound. Not only that, but the plane disappears into mid-air and the whole mystery begins there. Computer programmer Sean Walker starts investigating the conspiracy after it has even abducted his own fiancée after she came up missing on their cruise.
President Martinez realizes that some of the detainees have escaped capture and are willing to do whatever to takes to make sure the others of their kind are released. He deals with threats as the conspirators try to make sure that no more detainees are released but the free ones and their leader start using advanced technology to their benefit and try forcing Mr. President to yield to their demands. Sean continues on his hunt to find his girlfriend/fiancée, her kidnapped little sister, and somehow get to the bottom of this all without losing his life.
